LEARN THE MOST POPULAR CLIPPER CUTTING TECHNIQUES
Clipper cutting is extremely popular as a simple and clean haircut technique that offers style, as well as a well groomed appearance. Though most of the haircut techniques are better done by trained professionals, this technique is not too difficult to perform at home provided you have the right equipment and proper practice.
The Collegiate, the Caesar, the flat top, the buzz cut are examples of some clipper haircuts that can be done easily at home. All these clipper cutting techniques start with hair wash followed by towel drying. In order to prevent hair from falling everywhere, place the towel covering the neck. You can also put a smock around the towel to keep it in place.
Buzz cut is generally 1/4th of an inch long or even less. This is the hairstyle that one gets during induction to a military boot camp. This style involves cutting the hair throughout the head to a uniform length. While cutting clippers for a buzz cut, always use the shortest guard till you have removed all hairs that are longer than the desired length. For a flat top cut, this shortest guard is to be used in all three sides to cut the hair. However, do not cut any hair beyond the parietal ridge. This is that part of the head where the top of our heads starts curving downwards. To cut hair in the remaining portion of the crown, use a guard of 1/2 inch or more. Use hair gel or other products for styling the top of the crown by making the hair stand up.
Performing the Collegiate clipper cut involves clipping the sides in a way that is similar to the buzz and flat top. However, the length at the crown should be graduated in such a way so that it is shortest at the back and longest at the front. You must change guards judiciously in order to achieve this effect. Caesar cut is another clipper cutting technique that is preferred by people who want some part of their hair to fly over their forehead. This should be done by straight edge trimming of the edge, combing them downwards, and flattening them across the forehead.
